ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE MANAGEMENT

AKÜ Bolvadin School of Applied Sciences was established with the Council of Ministers Decision dated 01/02/2010 and numbered 2010-103, and commenced education after entering into force upon publication in the Official Gazette dated 26/02/2010. Bolvadin School of Applied Sciences continues its services as Bolvadin Faculty of Applied Sciences pursuant to the Presidential Decree numbered 4000 dated 20.05.2021, published in the Official Gazette numbered 31487 on 21.05.2021. The Accounting program, which was the first department established within the School, started education in the 2011-2012 academic year by admitting students to Formal Education and Evening Education programs. With the decision taken by the Council of Higher Education in 2019, the name of the Accounting department was changed to “Accounting and Finance Management.”

In the Department of Accounting and Finance Management, education is provided to train students to a level where they can create jobs and be employed in independent accountancy and financial consultancy institutions that serve computerized accounting and finance needs required by all businesses. The aim is to raise graduates who provide added value through the instruction of accounting, finance, information systems, law, tax, and management knowledge. The program, which offers a 4-year undergraduate education, operates with expert academic staff capable of transferring not only current theoretical knowledge but also practical applications regarding how this knowledge should be utilized in professional life.

The curriculum is designed to raise professional managers who can communicate effectively, possess personal skills, and aim for continuous development with a consciousness of social responsibility. It is ensured that students graduate with the accumulation of knowledge necessary to pass the exams required to become Independent Accountants and Financial Advisors (CPA), which are constantly needed in business life. Additionally, a mandatory applied On-the-Job Training requirement has been established so that the vocational knowledge provided to students does not remain merely at a conceptual level.

Students graduating from this program can be employed with titles such as manager and assistant manager in the accounting and finance departments of businesses. Until reaching the management stage, it is possible for our students to work as staff capable of maintaining accounting records in businesses; likewise, they can easily be employed in numerous Independent Accountancy and Financial Consultancy firms. Students will also have the opportunity to benefit from Exchange Programs with Contracted Universities within the framework of the European Union – Erasmus Program. In the department where the medium of instruction is “Turkish,” English and vocational English-supported education spread over 4 years will continue throughout the undergraduate study.
